Integrating Roma communities into society is an important element in the reduction of social and economic disparities in Europe. For this reason, several of the projects financed by the EEA Grants supported Romanian NGO fund target the Roma population.
Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein will strengthen their support to civil society in Central and Southern Europe through the EEA and Norway Grants 2009-14. An online consultation exercise on the funding is launched today at an open briefing in Brussels.
Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and the EU today signed the agreements for the EEA and Norway Grants 2009-14, after the EU member states agreed on the final distribution for the beneficiary countries. €1.79 billion will be made available to projects that contribute to social and economic development in 15 EU member states in Central and Southern Europe.
